The Quest for wisdom foundation (QFWF) aims to stimulate the intercultural art of living

The QFWF wants to contribute to a culture of openness to cultural pluriformity by tapping into one’s own and shared historical intercultural roots and wisdom traditions.

This mission realizes the QFWF through the Wheel of the Intercultural Art of Living and the Three Quests:

Quest 1: Wisdom Web

The Wisdom Web is a forum for the intercultural art of living.

In its core are values ​​of inclusion of different cultures and the beauty of being different.

On the Wisdom Web, wisdom from all over the world is collected and presented in a special symbolic way.

In this sense, collecting, arranging, developing and presenting — via the Wheel of the Intercultural Art of Living — takes place in a very unique way, emphatically distinguished and handled differently than, for example, Wikipedia and other (open source) encyclopedias do.

In doing so, the QFWF wants to contribute to intercultural connections based on the realization that these:

  • grow through awareness of the historical roots of cultures,
  • thrive on interest in other cultures and wisdom traditions and
  • bear fruit through encounters and cross-cultural perspectives.

The Wisdom Web grows organically with a rich palette of philosophical, artistic and spiritual expression and reflections, which concretize the Wheel of the Intercultural Art of Living.
This is done thanks to the input of various QFWF-auteurs[1].

[1] QFWF authors are authors, actors, artists, designers, drafters, photographers, illustrators, video and film makers and other producers of text, images, sound, and stakeholders who make the texts and other materials available to a QFWF-site have made.

Quest 2: Golden Ratio

Wisdom from all over the world for the benefit of diversity and inclusion is offered as educational material:

  • to get to know other cultures and wisdom traditions
  • to promote intercultural communication, art forms and philosophies
  • to develop unifying cultural practices.

The material — serving, as a Golden Ratio, personal growth and community building — is published on the Wisdom Web (Quest 1)
Also, it is shared on the Encounter Days, through Workshops and Masterclasses as well as documented on the QFWF video channel (Quest 3).
The Golden Ratio consists of artistically designed and culturally diverse palette of material that is grouped around particular themes of the intercultural art of living; such as the wisdom through play, proverbs, myths and animal stories.

The QFWF sees the realization of an Intercultural Meeting House for the promotion of the Golden Ratio as a promising future perspective.

Description of the Game concept Man, know yourself and of the Gnosis game: a quest for wisdom!

The overall title Man, know yourself refers to the famous words on Apollo’s temple that marked the beginning of the western wisdom tradition in Greece about 600 BC: the fame of Apollo’s oracle in Delphi stretched beyond the borders of the old Greek Empire. The importance of self knowledge as a way to include ethical and spiritual dimensions in the way we develop and use knowledge is at the heart of the game concept Man, know yourself.

The concept encompasses workshops and master classes with different games that are centred around themes of life, such as the theme of happiness and tragedy in the Gnosis game. Other themes are the competence of playing with social masks, questions around re-orientation in life and career as the art of reading signs on your journey in the labyrinth of life and research as a quest from the outside to the heart of a matter in developing knowledge from within.

The art of living and happiness

This is a dynamic game based on the philosophy of the art of living to facilitate dialogue between players who are motivated to focus on personal growth, professional development and team building.

It draws upon a number of familiar game techniques and the game’s resources include dice, sand glass and top, board, cards and pawns. In addition, the participants, by using creative and rhetorical means, give symbolic significance to their own life’s journey through the landscape of happiness (an exercise in the art of living).

Through playing the game and sharing dialogue with each other the participants discover how to control their lives and careers from within and how they relate to the tragic side of life…

There are several forms of the game designed for various purposes, according to the needs and potential of the participants.

The Gnosis game: a quest for wisdom! uses the theme of happiness by reflecting upon each player’s idea of happiness in the light of the philosophy of the art of living. The game concludes with each participant conveying his or her interpretation of the theme of happiness, both verbally as well as in art form.
