Amor Fati: Playing Wisdom for the Cosmopolis

With a world on fire and humanity at stake, the current world order is falling apart. Although technology seems to have a solution for everything, many feel that other paths need to be explored. The hectic citizen, looking for more and more kicks in a screaming emo-culture seems to mask a lack: a need for connection in a torn world. This necessitates dwelling on the deeper causes behind the social symptoms of alienation, polarization and loss of meaning.
Amor Fati goes back to the old way of lived philosophy with a plea for the good life in the cosmopolis; as an answer to advancing populism, and the accompanying exclusion of groups of people. Together with the circles around the Quest for Wisdom foundation, Heidi Muijen searches for lived wisdom from the four corners of the world, capable of bridging the divisive us-versus-them thinking and connecting people. The book consists of seven chapters that address the parallel between personal life themes and the collective art of organizing life as a community for developing transcultural practices for global citizenship.
